This rock break is going to be the scenario of the International surf contest "La Caja de Canarias Ocean Earth" that welcome the best surfers of the WQS (World Qualifying Series), the elite of young surfers whose ultimate aim is to be in the WCT Tour -the top 45. "El Confital" is one of the most powerful and best barreling righthander wave of Europe with a prestige that make it unique for this World Championship. The first part of the wave is not too barreling but its bowl breakes on a shallow reef that can hold up to a solid 9 ft in its second part making a montrous tube starts roaring behind your back. Even from the shore you can see the immensity and the power of this great rippable barrel. This wave will give you its best when the tide starts to get down.

Just 8 days left to this contest, "El Confital" and "Las Monjas" look like this, whilist some pro surfers and locals start to ride this perl of the Atlantic Ocean in order to do their best in a week time.

"Las Monjas" is a spot right at the end of the bay where just few surfers can demonstrate their talent. Be careful and don't try to do any tricks to make sure you get out of the tube. However, That's a good pointbreak to practice and feel the Atlantic force. Others well-known spots not far from there, along the Confital Bay, are "El Lloret" and "La Barra", both of them rock breaks as well. Also in the North shore you will find some waves to enjoy and surf free as a dolfin.

I hope the force will continue to rise and the swell will leave us a good barrel to be ride.
